I thought this would make an interesting ongoing thread like the one on CD releases. I'll also start a separate thread on classical saxophone quartets.
Hey, if any of you are on Facebook, check out my group "Angel's Concert Saxophone Information Central". On the discussion board are pretty much all of the links found on this thread and many many more. So far I have concert saxophonists and saxophone quartets. At some point I'll include saxo ensembles and mixed chamber groups.
There will also be links to the best free concert saxo videos.
This is a friend of mine Nick Russoniello. He's got a great duo with guitarist Murilo Tanouye, this is their website http://www.duohistoire.com
There's sound samples on the site from their debut album which will be released on Sunday 21st of September. For more details check the website
Anubis Quartet has a new, in progress website. The web address will hopefully change soon, but go check out our site, listen to recordings, have a good time!
Come check us out and let's be friends! So far I am not the baritone on the recordings that are posted, but hopefully that will change before too long.
We will be adding more audio in the coming weeks, but there are some nice recordings up of the Tango Virtuoso by Escaich, KLONOS by Swerts, They Might Be Gods by Leszczyński, and Suite by Norman. Please have a look around!
Here are some more excellent saxophonists that I know very well.
The Oasis Quartet (they are about to release an album...featuring James Romain, Nathan Nabb, Dave Camwell, and James Bunte): http://www.oasisquartet.com/
Nathan Nabb (professor of saxophone at Morehead State University and someone who has inspired me to continue to play and study music): http://www.nathannabbmusic.com/
Dave Camwell (professor of saxophone at Simpson College and another fantastic saxophonist): http://www.davecamwell.com/
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
