I've been playing .105 Link-style pieces for years, mainly because this has for some reason emerged as the "standard" size for this kind of tenor piece. Realizing that a lot of the guys I look up to from the past played smaller-tips (5-6*), I've been thinking about giving this a try. Looking for a nice, focused, dark-medium tone, with that typical "hollow" Link thing that goes on with these.
Would I be better of going HR for something like this? I really don't want to spend a ton of money (less than $200) for this diversion, in case it's a total disaster and I want to move it along to someone else.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
