Aizen SL Tenor pieces, how are they?

Anyone playing the Aizen SL Tenor pieces regularly?
Just wondering how they do or don’t compare to the Slant pieces.
I’m looking at perhaps one of these or the Drake Bergonzi pieces so if you have experience with both, even better.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
Cheers Nick.

The Aizen SL is almost a Slant copy, with the typical "japanese touch": the design is very very close to a real Slant Signature... but the facing (and also the table offset) is designed to make the mouthpiece extremely freeblowing and easy to play.

The Drakes are more tradizional... fuller sound, not as "freeblowing" as the Aizen... more flexible.
The Bergonzi EB is slightly brighter.
The Bergonzi Slant is more like a "dark" Slant: I think they go for a darker design to mark a significant difference with the Bergonzi EB. The Bergonzi Slant is based on the old Drake "Stan Getz".
Very different one from each other.

Then Drake has the two "Son of Slant", which are something even "beyond".

In the Bergonzi vibe... there's also the Mouthpiece Café, which is the more traditional Slant copy: more resistance... greath character, not ultra flexible... but still a joy to play.

I think your choice should be based according what you need or what you like more...
---> maximume ease of playing... you need the Aizen.
---> tone, efficiency, flexibility... you need one of the two Drakes.
---> vintage feeling, not so tons of flexibility but a legit tone... you need a Mouthpiece Café.

I went for the Aizen SL piece.
In fact it was one that was selling on eBay.
10* that was made for Bergonzi.
You described it well, blows easy for its wide tip opening.
Big sounding piece, like an early Sonny Rollins vibe.
Can get nice and loud without blowing a gasket too.
I’m really enjoying it.
I’d love to try the Aizen SL for Baritone as well one day.
