These are great tenors. A lot of them were set up by Ken Beason. Do you know if this one had a Beason setup?

    Hi ,
yes it did ... superb action and player .
Rich Maraday was briliant with the full deal.
I have bought 3 horns from him and this was the first .. I also own a UL 58 that I bought a while ago and a 60 Soprano.

    Guys ,
I dont mind an offer but when its an insult then I cant take the message seriously..
I could probably include shipping at $ 1850.00 that is still a reduction of about $ 150
Just so you know what I am looking for . Absolute bargain at that money

Someone needs to take this incredible deal. I just bought a used M58 tenor for $2200 and felt like I got a fair deal. Viking are easily the best Taiwanese-made horns and the quality control on each instrument is vastly superior to the other Taiwanese imports.

Beautiful horn. I think part of the problem with selling it is that the majority of those who would be most interested in and familiar with this make/model are likely located in the U.S., and you are in the U.K. Extra costs, shipping risks etc might be a turn off.

These garner good reviews from those who have played them.

Yes. Also, the fact that a good horn priced reasonably hasn't sold in three weeks doesn't mean it will never sell. The SOTW Marketplace is usually not a quick-sale emporium. There aren't hordes of buyers competing for every good deal. You may have to wait to find the one player who wants/needs to buy exactly what you are offering. I had a sax posted here for months before it sold.

This is a great axe at a very fair price. I love my M58...and you can't get one new anymore.

I do think I have listed it far too cheaply ..
I will just keep it here if it doesnt sell on EBay .
The shipping costs are minimal to the US .. less than $ 100 ..
I know how to pack a horn so it doesnt get damaged .
Surprised nobody has jumped on it from the UK
    ;-)

I think sometimes you have to take into consideration what a buyer can get for the same money or for just a bit more or even less.but of course you are thinking that you are selling cheaply because of what you paid, and its condition.

I guess I always think of guys over wanting vintage even they are those crappy old split bell key horns.

I think it's all due to unfamiliarity with the brand. Viking doesn't carry weight like the big names or even the more familiar names like Cannonball/Mauriat and most people have never tried one (and likely never will). It's too bad because they're missing out. My newly acquired M58 tenor outshines my Martin Magna and is now my go-to horn.

+1 Especially here in the UK. Nobody has heard of them.

Can't speak for the tenor but I've got the Viking Valkyrie alto in cognac lacquer and its a superb horn bought it secondhand on Ebay uk in mint condition for very cheap about a year ago, they are not too well known in the UK and i was the only one who bid on the listing, its been my go to alto ever since.

    They are briliant horns.
I have had Mauriat and even a Ref 54 years ago.. the Viking smashes both of those horns .
Like the obsession with mouthpieces .. those in the know buy the HR from 10mfan.. others pay extortionate prices for old pieces that sound nowhere near as good.

Even Steve Neff rated the Vikings..
He wouldnt recommend them if they didnt do the business.
