    Default John O'Gallagher

    Hello,
i am digging this great altoist, his playing and his trio outing a lot. Great vibe and sound.
I see he is playing on a white piece which could be a brilhart but not sure after watching the clip below. Around 0:54 there´s an almost clear image of the piece but not sure what the inscriptions on it are. Maybe is one of the slim designs by brilhart?
    What do you think?

By the way he has a very interesting book about the use of the twelve tone row in improvisation.
    Mind opening music!!

John was my buddy at Berklee in the mid 80"s. He lived right across the hall from me in the dorms. Lots of good times!!!
Such a great guy and UNBELIEVABLE player!!!!!! He practiced his *** off every day. So glad to hear his name again.
He was playing on an old Beecher off-white alto mpc back then.
This doesn't look like that piece.

Just remember a friend once told me about him so went to check my mail interchange with him. Surprising thing, he said that John had been playing some Brilhart mouthpiece copies made by Charles Bay. Do you know this mouthpieces?

Talked to John, who was kind and generous enough to take some time to answer a mail i sent to him. He was playing a Bay copy of a Brilhart until recently when he switched to a piece modeled for him by Francois Louis.
Anyway, i am digging his sound so much that i even keep hearing to the simplest(at the beginning) 3 note cells he demonstrates on some masterclasses videos. That´s a full fat sound!
