It has a G# trill and a key that might be an high F# or an highD (not possible to asses which from the pictures but it was a peculiar arrangements of some horns of the period) similar to what Keilwerth or Amati would have on their Tonekings III.
I’d say this is a horn coming from Markneukirchen. This appears to be confirmed from other sources and on line I found that Gloria was a model name by Oscar Adler. Adler was a small independent maker and after WWII became part of the East-German, Socialist, corporative, state run VEB company , which then became B&S.
But this is a proper Adler Saxophone. I am sure of it.
Certainly very well made, the company still exists incorporated in some form in the Gebruder Mönnig company but they no longer make saxophones. Unfortunately the value is limited because it is not a brand or model which commands much money.
If it were a Keilwerth it would be more valuable but it is a saxophone of a less known company and that in perfect state would be worth €800 to 1000 ( the last one is very optimistic). As is maybe €200.
Max Keilwerth stenciled Gloria Saxophones, I one had a nickelplated Tenor I refurbed; it was definitely a Max. It read Oscar Adler/Markneukirchen on the bell as well....so coincides with Milandro's comments.
For the life of me I cannot find my old pics of the Gloria I sold...which is bumming me out because it was a real beauty of a horn. The one curveball here is the engraving on OP horn does not read Adler nor Markneukirchen....
But thank goodness for Helen, who had borrowed ONE shot of mine from an auction, way back when and posted it in her Adler section:
Your horn has the G# Trill, as noted and also that other key (adjacent to the side keys) is actually an Alt High Eb key, if I recall correctly. Stylistically it looks like it is late pre-war (i.e. 1935-40) which was the period my Adler-Gloria was from.
Now Gloria may well have been a stencil name produced by a few different makers, but based on the pics here we cannot rule out it being a Max Keiwerth. I would say from the pix you have provided, it's identical to the horns on Helen's site, and those are Max Keilwerth horns.
These are GOOD Tenors. If you were in the United States, I would be begging you to send it to me to refurbish, actually....
A pic of the pinky table and also one showing the bellbrace would be helpful. Maybe one of the octave key and mechanism too. If pinky table, octave mech, and bellbrace match Helen's photos, you can be sure it's a Max Keilwerth horn.
