Just got my new mj 700 lig. It's phenomenal. Get one before they have to use another kind of wood.

Hmmm, you might be right. But, if initially its "wiggly" is it on its way to just *loose* and thereby getting finicky for placement/tightening?

Just being picky...I really think it might be really great.

Anyone know if you can get this lig without all the engraving? I like my ligatures understated if at all possible.

I would sincerely hope it's not being sold with my logo (as in the photos). Probably the best place to ask this is the Marc Jean website, I doubt people here can answer on his behalf.

Don't you worry Pete, these models are exclusive for you guys. We don't sell copies to third parties.

Besides, yes, upon request they can be made without all the fuss, no problem.

I have one of these now and really like it. I also wanted to shout out for the excellent communication and service I got from the people at Marc Jean. Really nice and helpful people committed to make their customers happy. Buying from them was a really happy experience!

I've been using Marc's ligatures for years now and the MJII is even better than the original, which was hard for me to believe. The openness of the sound and the ease of response compared to everything else I've tried is really good! Workmanship is also top notch. Highly recommended.

"The openness of the sound and the ease of response compared to everything else I've tried "

    +1

I'm usually in the ligs-don't-make-a-big-difference-as-long-as-they-hold-the-reed-on camp, but the first note I blew with this lig was a "wow" moment!

And I've always liked the ease of single-screw ligs.
