Hello Everyone - I have for sale my Viking Musical Instruments M58S Tenor in Cognac. I purchased this horn directly from Rich Maraday in April 2015. It is still under the original 5 year warranty. I'm primarily a soprano player, but I bought this tenor thinking I would branch out to tenor, but just never had enough time to really develop my tenor "voice". I've recently started playing bari in a local community band, so I know I won't have time. I'd rather see this horn go to someone who will play it and give it the attention that it deserves.
About the horn. I've only played it a few times at home, so it's in excellent condition and it really rocks! Plays in tune up and down the horn. Very free blowing. The pictures on the Viking website don't do this horn justice; the cognac lacquer makes this horn look amazing! When I bought the horn, I had Rich send it to Ken Beeson to have it professionally set up. You'd basically be getting a brand new horn and professional setup at a discount. The horn also comes with 3 key clamps. Here are the specs from the Viking website:
-MK VI style key guards
-3 point bell to body brace.
-Pearl front F
-Modern style key board
-MK VI style octave mechanism
-All pads installed with shellac
- S brass blend for feedback and increased resonance
-Heavily engraved bell and bow engraving SBA style
-Pisoni pro pads
-Blue steel springs
-Real white Mother of pearl
-Larger bell
-Increased bore
-High F#
-Minimal post rib construction for increased resonance
-Contoured case
I'm asking $1800.00 OBO + shipping within the CONUS. I'll also consider trades for a baritone sax with Low A or a modern 2 piece soprano sax.
Let me know of any questions. I'll post pictures when I get home this evening.
Thanks for looking.
