These new risers look good to me. I would like to have them around for several of my horns. I noticed that Arno Bornkamp used risers on his 1876 Adolphe Sax alto. I have almost the same 1876 alto, only a few serial numbers different, and I use removable risers on my horn because i want to preserve the originality of the instrument. I have several other older saxes that i want to keep original, but I use them for modern day live concerts, so these risers look good because they don't make any marks or changes on the keys.
Here is the problem for me - When I tried to order the risers, there were discounts involved, and the website proved so complicated to me that i blew the whole thing off. Don't get me wrong, I'm blaming myself (my computer runs on steam) but negotiating the website could be easier.

Looks nice, I wonder if it is possible to put a shiny metal plating type finish on this plastic to help it bend into the horn better.

You could spray the plastic easily enough. Just try to keep it out of the threads.

I suggested a color option other than black, but I guess that idea was rejected.

Just black for now. They should take paint without issue. Thanks

Like i said in #62. I could use them on my sopranino sax and the palm keys are have the size of a normal modern sax palm key. i have no way of measuring them so can there ever be a special order for my horn Mr. Cosmos Ind?

Delrin can be easily shaped with a dremel and then sanded smooth. Cosmos' two part/screw clamp design should allow for customization along these lines. If you're not into getting all DIY with it, a tech would make quick work of it.

can't do much without measurements unfortunately. The manufacturing process isn't a piece of cake either. There are custom jigs and lots of programming, so a one of a kind set would not be practical to run. I will be keeping eyes open and if I can come up with another version to fits more horns, we'll do it. Thanks

What set would you recommend for a Selmer Series II alto (well, Axos but the key placement is similar)? Would you get different sizes for each key or a set of three of the same size?
