Default Yamaha yss61 soprano sax fs

This horn BLOWS GREAT...very free blowing...nost of the purple label is worn off and a little lacquer wear...95% there...pads are real good...original case is fine just a few rough spots on the outside...This one blows better than most 62's I've played...$1795...ships from bethlehem,pa.usa...

Jeez. I want this, a ton. Definitely can't afford a new horn at the moment but if you still have it in a few months when gig season picks back up I will be in touch.

This one could have been mine years ago, Pete. Did you get it from Florida?

The plastic thumb hook got me going for a google search. I wonder if there was a year that that started doing metal or if it was some metal some plastic here and there. There's so little info on these horns.

My YTS 61 is a beast. If I were to buy a sop it would for sure be this one.

    Littlewailer, I don't recall ever seeing a 61 with a metal thumbrest.

Just a quick google images search turns up a good mix of metal and plastic thumb rest results.

Mine is metal. I guess if they are metal they are after market.

Are the pads original? Just wondering how much life is left in them...

I am very particular about sopranos and this is the 3rd 61 I have owned and I've owned many 62's and a couple 62r's and 1 62RS...This 61 is among the best of all of them...If it doesn't sell it's OK but someone who loves to play soprano will love this one!

I totally agree with you, Pete. I've owned a YSS61 since 1978. I've tried others, but I keep this one.

This was Yellowhorn's soprano a while back and has since been overhauled...reduced to $1695 and you won't find any soprano that plays this good for this price...no trades...
