Oh great. Till now, I was perfectly happy growing old with only one ailment: Numerophobia...

First off, you started late like a lot of us here in SOTW, so we suck compared to those who started early and are diligent at it. But its all for fun, so just enjoy it and be inspired by those who are better than you.

I picked up flute seriously at 60 years old. (two years ago) and I am making fast progress but I do stretches for my hand arm and fingers every morning and I play/practice 90 minutes a day with a teachers help and I listen to good players and I am stuctured in what I try to get done every day. AM I as fast as a good high school kid. Probably not. but can he play over the rainbow in any key or the 100s of songs I know. Probably not. So I'm happy. Focus on progress and get a teacher. K

Damn. 90 minutes a day with a teacher? I don't think there's anything I can do for 90 minutes straight...I don't think I can even sleep that long... My ADD gets the best of...

    ...oh look! A cheeseburger!

Forget about the critics, enjoy the sax for whatever your motivation is. Last night my grandson came over, and we were playing dueling riffs. In today's environment, it's good to have him not glued to an electronic game, and do something we both enjoy.
