I don't think it has any ties to H.N. White CO. at all! I could be wrong but that 'KING" logo is just odd. Vintage Kings perhaps have the best engravings and then this ????
It was. Would that stop another maker from using the same name? I just think that engraving is terrible. Looks like the "G" in 'King' is getting left behind.
Whoa, my apologies to all! I just turned my monitor to side to look at the scribble underneath "American Standard" and sure enough - it's a H.N. White horn. Difficult to read but it's there.
That King engraving looks like somebody scratched it in at home with their chisel and hammer looks horrible. The rest of the engraving looks legit. At the very least that KING writing is sketchy.
I have one of these in silver plate and it is a very good alto and better than the later ones. If you can get it cheap and if it plays somewhat, it may be worth fooling around with since there are not many in the UK. Shipping one from the US would exceed $100US.
