Default Old Amati, my new friend :)

    Hello..Alek here ...
I am new on the sax... Last 15 years I was trying to get one... but they were so expensive... so 15 years ago I bought clarinet and played sometimes...
Finally ..a month ago..I bought an Amati Classic Super Tenor... for a cheap... and started to play...

This is how it sound in my hands .. few days after I received horn...

Horn needs to be repaded ...
I have some vintage noname mouthpiece... suppose hardrubber...cause it is pretty heavy weight... Problem is ...it is pretty open tip... It is hard for me to play on it...
I have chance to buy brand new Vandoren T27 for 60 euro...in my town...
So is it good for beginer?
I have Rico No.2 reeds... I feel like I need spme less strong...1,5 suppose... Can I found those on the market?
When I play mouthpiece only I got an A. Friend told me that it shoud be G ...
Also when I am plaing horn... my pitch is sharp a bit... Suppose less opened mouthpiece and thinner reed will make my tune more correct...

    Best Alek

These are great horns for their price.
Full sounding and pretty good ergos as well.
They have the added advantage of being able to easily switch from articulated to non articulated G# simply by adjusting a small plate fixed on bottom of G# key touch.

The later models with Selmer type keywork are better, the keys are lacquered and they have adjustable bumpers on Bb/B/C/Eb. Look for B+H '400'-- they go cheap. Well set up with firmer pads and levelled t/holes they are excellent.

Nice horn, Alek. You're doing good, for four months of playing. Keep up the good work!
Strive to be better than the day before.

    Thank you...

I am giving my best to get good sound.... I have vandoren t27 classical music mouthpiece which has small tip opening but actually it is good for me cause I am beginner... and mu muscles do not become tired so fast... I can play longer... Maybe oneday I will switch to larger tip opening...
Here is one take with band... not so bad for beginning ....
