The Six Brown Brothers play Peer Gynt - 1919

Maybe somebody has posted this before - apologies if so.

(Can we start a sticky for links to historic performances of bass-sax interest?)

Also, the notes give the names of the six brothers - apparently Vern Brown was the main bass player.

The Library of Congress is apparently doing a large project of restoring historical recordings - probably lots of other gems here.

It's a raggy paraphrase of Grieg, originally for piano, by George L. Cobb. He also did "Russian Rag" (taking off Rachmaninoff), as well as chartbusters such as "Alabama Jubilee" and "When Poppies Bloom Again."
