I'm not going to say it's better than BG Tradition or Charles Bay gold-plated ligatures. In fact, I'm keeping those around and will likely use them again as I like them a lot. The M|O has a kind of affinity for the response characteristics of the AL3 -- an excellent match.

The differences are subtle but significant. If you like Bay or BG, you probably shouldn't necessarily run out and buy an M|O. I just figured I have been tweaking for years, so why not try this one too. Turned out to align with my current preferences.

I would like you to post, in Harvard reference format, a complete ranking of every ligature you have ever played. You must decide on an absolute best one and tell us which one it is so we can all play them.

Perhaps you could add an emoticon? Between this and your previous post (within the same thread), I'm having a difficult time determining the level of humor vs. snark. The winking blue smiley face would do nicely, assuming it is not your intent to be insultingly sarcastic.

Don't feel bad. Playing classical music on saxophones calls for a healthy sense of humor, but does very little to encourage its cultivation.

The absolute best one depends on a number of things, but it's usually one of the items near the top. Whatever that one is, it is the only real choice.

Don't worry, Angel knows me well enough to know it's tongue-in-cheek. Still, he DID post it, in the correct formatting, too...

I noticed that all the members of one of the fancy French quartets (I can't remember which one) used a BG Tradition ligature. What is your opinion of it? Also, how do you feel about the Bay and M|O. I am looking for a better ligature.

It was the Quatuor Habanera. They all use BG tradition ligs and BG neckstraps according to their website.

Hey Angel, in your sig it says YAS875EXHGS.
Is that just a typo, or did you have a high G key put on your alto?

I really like all three of these ligatures, and would highly recommend trying each of them.
