It's great! I will definitely start showing it to students and band directors to use. They also have been posting full quartet videos from there, Bozza's Andante et Scherzo, an arrangement of Low Quartet, and i think they will be posting more soon.
Thanks for the great link! Great education on the sax sections over various periods of jazz compositions. Who would have thought Staff Sargeants in the Army were that polished?? Humbling, just flat-out humbling.
From the Thread "Who takes in one inch of mouthpiece in your mouth? Really??"
Thanks JL,
Not at all nit picking. That is the quote totally......."Starts with a good embouchure"! Well spotted JL.
And as we know, having a great sound is sooooo many things. (of course that's a book in itself) We all want a great sound so being well educated re "your sax embouchure" can never be emphasized enough.
It's a complex activity, not simple. And I suppose that's why a good 6-12 hours of practicing "good technique" (as apposed to 6-12hours practice of incorrect habits/technique) each day is needed to get the elusive killer (Parker/Dexter/Coltrane/Rollins/Lester/ etc) sound!
Thanks again JL

It might sound like nitpicking, but there is quite a different meaning between those two statements.
