    Default Thomas Richardson Flutes

Just want to draw attention to this great flute maker in the US
I have 6 of his flutes now and just took possession of 2 of his new designs.
If you are at all into adding some exotic colour to your quiver of horns these are terrific.
I have no investment other than as a fan however that is me on their Facebook page in concert soundtracking with my friends The Death Rays of Ardilla and playing a four foot meditation flute.

    Dear Michael,
indeed, they look and sound fantastic!
    Which flutes do you have?
Do you have one of his really big flutes?
I have one monster-bansuri, and I can't get all holes closed, because they are so wide.
How does it work on these flutes?

    Thank you

    Hello there
Yes I have 3 of the larger flutes. I just got two but I have had the 4 foot Meditation flute for a while. I haven't had any problem with the big flutes. In the right hand often there are just two holes to cover. I use Pipers grip with my fingers extended sometimes with just my index and little finger.
I have quite small hands but I get by. If you want one tell Thomas you have stretch problems.
I will have to go through the names to remember what I have..I have a small Japanese scale flute that I use a lot. I have the Geisha which is a kind of large bore bass flute with 4 holes...I love the tone of that one. I'm quite addicted to these instruments.

Just received two flutes from Thomas. A 5 foot Shaolin bamboo in G minor and a 3 Foot bass Kanji Green Bamboo in A minor

Fantastic quality and tone. I buy inexpensive snooker cue cases...the flutes fit perfectly and are well protected.

In my efforts to break into some bass bamboo multiphonics I have ordered a 6 foot Meditation flute in 2 inch diameter yellow Chinese bamboo. 5 holes including thumb hole. It's essential to get the ergos right on these large instruments.
