This is Raaf Hekkema, a Dutch saxophonist and member of the Calefax Reed Quintet. He saxes have been modified to suit his purposes. Still I have read that his took him approx. 6 years of study.

All of the recordings I put up are live recordings. I'm debating changing the Albright(3rd movement) with something else I have(maybe even the first movement). The recording quality of that one is not that great since it was a horrible place where it was recorded. But yea, if any of you guys have myspaces too, feel free to add me

Anyone performed and recorded the Lunde Saxophone Sonata? I'd like to have another interpretation.

I have recorded the Lunde Sonata (along with Planel Prelude & Saltarelle, Tomasi Ballade, Yvon Bourrel and Marc Eychenne Sonatas, Robert Kritz Sonatina, Jean Absil Fantaisie-caprice and Oliver Nelson Sonata) for the Finnish Broadcasting Company. This is a very good piece but you just don´t hear it played often. I have a couple of recordings, but they certainly didn´t inspire me.

Me playing "Carnival of Venice", Hemke version

These were recorded in a big room... with a tiny voice recorder.... kinda makes for a nice honky tonk sound on the piano though, lol.... but no low end really got picked up.

I would post the entire recording... but I dont know of a good place to host files and this site I use will stop access to the clips for a while if they are accessed to much and are too long. bleh. Maybe i'll swap these out for more variations after a bit.

    Part of the Intro:
    intro

    2nd Variation:
    var2
...notice the artisticly placed finger fumble in this variation...... oops

I've already found many things to fix, so any and all feedback is appreciated.

Merlin: Link doesn't work, either from here or from your web-site.

Click on the link and when it says not found, add an 's' onto Five_Song(s) in the URL on your browser.

Thanks Steve. awholley's right, I left off the s, and I'll have to fix that.

    It should be: http://www.merlinwilliams.com/Five_Songs.mp3

    Takes a bit to d/l - since it's about a 6 minute cut.

This is me playing the first movement of the Ibert. Its got some mistakes... and you may want to cover your ears on the altissimo F..... which is more like an F with other mixed pitches. haha. Feedback is welcome and i know i have a lot to work on. Thanks everybody.

...apparently i cant link to the file... so copy and paste the above. be sure to include the www.

oh ya... this is hosted on geocities.... so it may only let one or two people listen per day.... they block a site that has to much file transfer i think.... any suggestions for free file hosting sites that dont claim property of what you upload?
