Yes, Bundy was/is of course Selmer USA's student line, which prior to their acquisition of Buescher consisted of stencils by various makers including Buescher, Conn and Keilwerth. What I had not been aware of prior to your post (#10) was that this Bundy model had also existed as an "Elkhart Made By Buescher" (if I'm not mistaken, Model 20A for the alto, 30A tenor), since I have never had one of those Elkharts and never have researched it's history. So, really, we were in agreement as to what the horn actually is, our only difference being what name is stenciled on the bell. The only Elkhart I have pre-dates (I think) Buescher's acquisition of Elkhart. It has an octave lever mechanism that's shaped like a horseshoe or wishbone that I have not seen on any other saxes. I have not been able to find any information about it. In another thread you mentioned a connection between Couturier and Elkhart, which I did not know about. Have you elaborated on that in another post? (If you have, I haven't found it yet.) I'm very interested to learn more about that. And, of course, thank you so much for all the work you have put into researching these otherwise nearly forgotten/ignored saxes, and sharing that knowledge with us. If it wasn't for you (and a few of the other regular contributors here), I would know far less about my Holtons, and nothing about Couturier saxes.
