    Hi Randy.

I am interested in your saxophone repair services and what is possible for you to accomplish with my horn. I recently purchased a yas-62 alto from ebay. The seller claims he purchased it new just a few months ago. Although I could not get a definitive answer from Yamaha, they say it was probably manufactured in 2003 and is a Mark II. It is in excellent condition but I am still a little disappointed with the key work. This might simply be due to the fact that I am a fan of Selmer's Balanced Action and Mark VI key work. I was not familiar with the yas 62 before so I didn't know what to expect.

I find the springs to be heavy and the distance required to close the keys to be much greater than a good Selmer.

I heard this could be a result of the way Yamaha adjusts it's saxophones out of the factory and can be improved with a good technician. Is this true? Your advise would be appreciated.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Buescher C soprano mouthpieces are often, but not always marked with the letter C near the oval logo. Bb soprano mouthpieces have a chamber that is larger than the backbore (part that fits onto the cork). C soprano mouthpieces have a chamber that is the same diameter as the backbore.
