Hey, nice vid of your playing. I just celebrated 1 year of playing the tenor, started at 60. The one thing, like you, I recommend to late bloomers/beginners, is that once you know you're committed get a good horn. I broke the bank and got a brand new Yam 875EX. Very happy with is.
As for practice time, I thinnk everyone is different. I'm a big fan of Stan Getz and know how many hours he put in when he started. Well there's a 50 year gap between us so the most I can do is about an hour per day 7 days per week with one hour a week with a teacher.
