    hey dude,
    i am reading your post about making a wooden sax mouthpiece because I am in wood shop class now too and am interested in the same thing. However, the links for the pictures are not working for me. Can you either email me the pics, or somehow let me see those. I would really appreciate it.

    Hey there Jazz House,
    Are there any good music universities in australia? i'm in tassie and want to continue with saxophone, and make it my career. i'm still in school (14), but if you could let me know about any that would be appreciated.

    Hi, I saw that you are using a metal Bari soprano piece. I was wondering if you know of different ligatures that fit it besides the included one and Rovners. I'm digging the mouthpiece but I'm using larger ligatures with spacers temoprarily.

    Thanks

    I'm in cairns. If you ever come up here I'm not that hard to find. A lot of teachers and players know me or have heard of me. Out of curiosity why do you want to know?

    Hi Jazz House. I'm not sure if you recieved a notice whenever I answered your question on my wall, so I am pasting the answer on yours as well.

    Well, this is going to be a very "rough" estimation. I'm going to measure the cirumference using the bottom reed plate as part of the curve. The reed plate will be in the same position as it would be if it were holding the reed in place on the mouthpiece.

    Cicumference = TT x Diameter

    The Diameter (from the top of the lig to the closed bite plate) is approx 3/4". Using 3.14 for TT, the circumference turns out to be approx 2 1/3".

    And if you need the metric measurements;

    Diameter = approx 2cm
    Circumference = approx 6 1/4cm
