    hey super action. I have not played for about 5 years and want to get back into playing. I have 2 years a providence collage but did not finish as i got a job offer that i regreat now. I have not played out since moving to PIT. Is it tough to find work? where should I be looking.

    Well, this is going to be a very "rough" estimation. I'm going to measure the cirumference using the bottom reed plate as part of the curve. The reed plate will be in the same position as it would be if it were holding the reed in place on the mouthpiece.

    Cicumference = TT x Diameter

    The Diameter (from the top of the lig to the closed bite plate) is approx 3/4". Using 3.14 for TT, the circumference turns out to be approx 2 1/3".

    And if you need the metric measurements;

    Diameter = approx 2cm
    Circumference = approx 6 1/4cm

    Hi Super Action,

    I am pretty sure that you own a soprano STM. I posted a thread earlier about the circumference of this piece. I am trying to compare link ligature sizes with BARI gold sizes. Could you give me a measurement of the circumference of the are the ligature usually covers please? I would really appreciate it.
