- Biography:
- Jamey Sterrett is a saxophone soloist, chamber, and large ensemble musician. A native of East Texas, Jamey is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in saxophone performance at the University of North Texas under the instruction of Dr. Eric Nestler.
As a performer, Sterrett has presented solo recitals throughout the state of Texas. He has performed as the featured soloist with the East Texas Baptist University Concert Band as well as the East Texas Baptist University Jazz Band on their annual performance tours.
In addition to his solo performances, Sterrett is also dedicated to chamber music. While at UNT, he has served as a founding member of the Verdigris Saxophone Quartet, and is the ensemble's alto saxophonist. He was also a saxophonist in the UNT Concert Band under the baton of Nicholas Williams. He currently enjoys an active lifestyle in Denton, Texas with his wife Ashley.
