That's really awesome that you played with the Ovation Orchestra! I've probably seen you playing with them! That band was full of great players, dick hillard, Tom jolly, Corkie Raible, these guys were legends to a young player like myself.
The Conn sounds great, and that's a very reasonable price for a horn in that condition. Unfortunately it's quite out of budget for me. I'm looking in the 1500-2000 or less range. I do appreciate the offer, if I had a bit more to spend I'd be all over it!!
Hello! Great to meet you! Yes, indeed, Babe Giancola was my grandfather. Sadly he passed away at 90 years old nearly two years ago. He taught me everything I know about the sax and was my instructor throughout my high school and college years. Truly a great player, up until he was too ill to continue playing.... he practiced at least a couple hours every single day!
I've heard good things about the Conn 10M! I may very well take you up on that opportunity to have a try out. How much is the asking price?
Have you heard Rick Margitza with trombonist Mike Fahn?
I know your a Rick fan, just pulling your coat- I know you'd dig it.
Also you used to have some videos on youtube, right? What's your name on there since I'd like to check out your playing, especially if you have some more recent stuff up.
On the recent "Girl from Ipenema [sic]" thread you wrote this:
"Lovely. We used to call that "Skating". There is a player that some people like here that makes his living doing that."
Hey, man--not really fair to tease your fellow members like that. C'mon--drop the other shoe; who, pray tell, are referring to? Please respond privately or on here (semi-privately I guess).
