HELLO saxguy . . Thanks for your response.Sadly my gigs have dropped 50 percent due to the situation here. Thanks for your suggestion regarding alternate playback systems but I find that ipod sounds scratchy when fed through a big sound system and mp3 causes delays when selecting tracks unless you are playing a programmed repertoire which I dont do . - I used to play some Indo Jazz some years ago when Indian sitarist Ravi Shanker was doing it in the States .There is a short tune I composed for a show.It has to be played with the Paul Desmond sound on Alto with a bluesy feel.ALL THE BEST, HORNLOVER Colombo.

Hello Saxguy. Thanks for your response.Sadly my gigs have dropped 50 percent due to the present situation here.I have lost two of my best customers both of whom are mega business establishments. Thanks for your suggestion re mp3 and ipod, but I find that ipod sounds scratchy when fed through a big sound setup and mp3 causes delays when selecting tracks unless you are playing a pre programmed repertoire. I used to do Indo Jazz around 1968 when Ravi Shanker was doing it in the States but gave it up after some jokers here started some rubbish which they called fusion which was really rock with local oriental drums.Would like to have some details about your musical activities etc.I am glad I found SOTW.

    Hi,

I saw your post about horn arrangements for worship music. My e-mail is sk9319@cox.net, it would be great if I could get a list of your arrangements!

Hi saxguy007, I am a worship leader and trying to possibly add a trumpet(or possibly 2), trombone and sax player to our band. They would more likely play on special occasions and not every Sunday for right now. Since I have never played any of those instruments, I don't feel comfortable writing for them. Vocals, keyboard, guitar and bass are my area of knowledge. We are a contemporary Worship team with a few hymns thrown in once in a while. Since Christmas is coming up, we would love to do some more contemporary (at least contemporary arrangement) carols as well. Do you have a list of the music that you have available?? I would be very grateful since I don't know much about this area of music. Thanks!! my email is... laurie@cornerstonezearing.org.

Hey Man, it was great playing in the section with you last night. Your bari sounded great and I'm REALLY glad I didn't have to read that book because there was a lot of heavy stuff going on there - and you did a great job on it. I don't do nearly as much jazz and big band playing as I used to so I was quite a bit rusty but no one got hurt so that's a success. :-) Hopefully we'll get the chance to play together again.
    Sincerely,
    -Barry

Happy Labor Day. Your review on the mac 8 is featured on Crouch's Macsax website. It was your review that won me over for the mac 8. I just ordered a mac 8 alto from Mike as well. I am very happy with my decision to the point that I sold my Cb Vintage tenor. Just did'nt compare to the mac 8. Enjoy the Holiday. EricM

Hey I saw in a thread that you mentioned you have a PB Mac 8, and I just wanted to know if you could tell me more about the horn. I'm really interested in getting a tenor from Phil Barone, but I'm not sure if I want the Classic or the PB Mac 8. I have tried the Big Bell Stone Series tenors and I really like the sound I get out of them; are they comparable to the Mac 8's since they have a larger bore and "big bell"? How would you rate it against the global series tenor you have? Do you know anything about the PB Classics? I'm really interested in them too after reading Phil's claims that they are comparable to a solid Mark VI. I have a global series alto, not that it matters much, but I really love it. Basically if everything people are saying about the Barones is true, I would probably end up going that route. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
