Now while a lot of people love machine-gun 8th notes ripping over a 300+bpm tune, there's something very personal about ballads. The Conn is closer to an Alto, and tends to work better (in my experience) with the alto mouthpieces.
I like the Buescher better, with a bright Tenor piece. Sounds somewhat like a Tenor on the low...
