Question - I have a 1953 Comm 3 tenor, it has nickel keys (or maybe nickel plate) and I have always wondered if it is original or not. I see that earlier Martins often seem to have nickel and I wonder if perhaps the factory used earlier keys on my Comm 3, or maybe someone just plated them. I have seen one or two photos of Comm3's with nickel keywork but I guess it's possible that someone replated them as part of a rebuild although It seems like an unnecessary expense. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks.
