    Well, when I was taught the chant, I thought it was funny. When I taught my niece the chant, she thought it was funny.

    Generally low register notes jumping into the upper register is usually a sign of a leak in the horn, so nothing to do with reeds. OTOH, a bad reed can cause all kinds of problems. But if this...

    Thanks for that wisdom Dave, Lakeys can be great and agreed not best for beginners. But oh yeah, probably the OP's is an old handmade and a very good mpc..way back I got a 6*3 tenor from him (in LA)...
