Just got called to do "Cinderella" at a local high school.

Anybody familiar with the musical and in particular, the Bass Clarinet Book?

Thanks

This is secondhand information, but I have a friend who played the bass clarinet book for this show and said she enjoyed it. The scoring is supposedly very orchestral, but I didn't see the show. Sorry, but I know nothing further.

Great

Hopefully some ballroom dance type stuff and maybe the bass clarinet can play evil step-sister parts (like the wolf parts in "Peter and the Wolf")

Look forward to it.

If I'm thinking of the right show (songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein?) the music is quite charming and should be lots of fun. Never played it, but have sung the songs around the piano many times.

Just got the book today, lots of waltzes and marches.

Opened to page one and the downbeat of the overture is a top line F. Rest of the book has a lot of middle and upper range parts. By no means a walk in the park for the bass clarinetist.
