Hi guys - got this on a flyer, only had one other french horn. Can't figure this one out. Looks to be a triple french horn. Engraving reads:
"Symphonic"
25 April 1959
PO USA - 4058
Special Services Property

No other markings or serial numbers on this. Closest thing I can find is an OLDS Double French Horn FH58-I (762), but this is not it.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated

Doesn't look at all like a saxophone to me.

Just curious, how do you get triple, looks like a double horn that includes an Eb slide.

Like I said - only touched one other french horn. Looked like it had a third layer of tubing. Just trying to get a handle on what it is and who might have made it. Thanks for any input

Do you know the range of that French Horn? I'd say its about 20 yards if you have a good arm.

Zech 1:18-19 Once again I looked and this time I saw four horns. So I asked the angelic messenger who spoke with me, “What are these?” He replied, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”

Silly jive. Nothing like hijacking a thread before it has a chance to even start?

Phob42, I play the Horn. I've never seen the "Symphonic" brand, but the use of "PO (Post Office) USA" and "Special Services Property" probably implies that it was used to check out to service members at their recreation center. Sorry I can't be of more help, but if I'm right, at least this might give you a start.

.........or the OP can search web resources that cater to French Horns or other brass instruments, not Saxophone On The Web. Perhaps there is a well rounded repairmen up here that could figure it out?
