Just arrived back from China to find my Schunda tárogató waiting.

It turns out to be in primo shape, really amazing for a horn this old. No wear on the finger holes, almost no tooth wear on the wooden mpc, and the lacquer at maybe 98%.

The horn was found in a little antique shop in Denmark. Not many tárogató players in Scandinavia...I guess it was brought there a century ago, played a little and put away in a closet or attic until now.

It could do with a repad, but it plays OK. For performance the Stowasser 19865 is unbeatable, but this instrument is very well made and well in tune for a two-ring.

It also appears to be a high-end model, with double octave key, left hand Eb, metal rollers on all the pinky keys, and made of very nice wood.

I still can't really get my head around the fact that I have an original Schunda, and this nice in so many respects.
