Default recent compositions for the saxophone

Hello there,
Do You know about any New Music- or Avantgarde-Compositions for saxophone not older than 10 years? Manuscripts and the like? Or is one of You him/herself composing such? I am very interested in getting into touch with nowadays composers who write for the saxophone, and their work.
Best,

Here's one from 1994: Sonate I pour saxophone alto et orgue by Denis Bédard. Very nice piece for alto sax and organ (yes, a rather unusual combination). It's a very beautiful 3 movement sonata with some lovely melodies throughout. You can find it in the lastest edition of Saxophone Journal (Nov/Dec). That should satiate your quest for new music for awhile.[/b]

I have recordings of work by Stockhausen, Berio, and some others, I will look to see if any are in the last decade. I suspect most of what I have is from the 70's & 80's...

thanks for the replies - but I think I´ve put it the wrong way: I am not looking for "lovely melodies", , in fact I do everything I can as a musician as well as a composer to get away from well-tempered-ness as far as possible...though I may mistake Vortex´ understanding of "lovelyness", because for my part I do think ripping multiphonics and Braxtonian pulse-tracks one of the most lovely phenomena in nowadays music. Ask Ned Rothenberg et al.
And I own the scores by Berio already - what I wanted to ask for were scores probably unpublished yet, manuscripts, the more outlandish the better - there´s too much boring stuff already printed.
Best,
Markus

Hello Markus,

I wrote three pieces for/with sax ; I can write others too.
-Scottish, fro contrabass sax (for Scott Robinson)
-Five Preludes for Jay C. Easton (I- for soprillo ; II- for A clarinet ; III- for Bb tubax ; IV- for contra-alto clarinet ; V for mezzo-soprano sax)
-a trio for alto saxophone, cello and piano.

I'm working at this time on a short piece for solo tenor, and duet for sax and harp.

All the best,
Olivier
