Default DID YOU KNOW? (reed adjustment)

If you wet your whole reed down for a minute or two before playing, it'll get wet. Wow. Now, the water, (or spit), gets in the reed through the vamp, the table, and AT THE BACK END. The back end of a reed can tend to swell up faster than the rest of the reed, warping the table. If you have reed problems and can't figure it out after shaving, etc, then try this:
Using a med rough sandpaper, (or with patience, a razor blade), remove material from the last 1/4 inch of the reed but.
The idea is to prevent uneven swelling due to water absorption. The back end of your reed will still swell, but it won't screw with the way your reed sits on the mouthpiece table. Good-Luck! 8)
