Write something everyday. Every single day. Always. Forever.

Once you get going, give yourself a goal and deadline - 60 seconds of score in a day. A twnety minute piece completed by the end of the week.

That is the single greatest piece of advice that I could give you and it will remain constant throught your progress. Composition is about creativity, but it is also, sometimes, about mechanics. I read an interview with a film score composer (can't remember the name) and he said (paraphrasing) if you want a beautiful composition and have a year to spare there are two thousand guys in LA who can do that. If you have three weeks, there are a handful.

You wont always come up with a masterpiece, but you should always be able to come up with something.
