Default question about soaking reeds...sort of..

okay, so say i take a cup, fill it with water, and soak my reeds in it.

now say i decide to (after soaking my reeds and emptying the water) use that cup again to drink out of (w/o washing it). is that safe?

considering that many people just stick the reed into their mouth and start wetting it, i'm sure this is a dumb question, but what the heck, might as well ask since i'm curious.

thanks!

When I was playing on the streets I used to stick the reed in and pour water in my mouth, let the reed soak in there for a few minutes and swallow the water. I'm still alive
