How do you match the "correct" reed profile to a particular mouthpiece? I don't know much about reed profiles, other than the angle and length of the cut differs. But I do know several manufacturers are now advertising "new profiles" and "new cuts" and I don't like the way the new profiles play.
Short of buying several of every reed, is there a way to know in advance what to look for in the proper match of reed and mouthpiece?
