Default Reeds BENDING???

I recently had some weirdness with a reed. It was a fairly new Vandoran Traditional size 2, only about 8 hours of playing on it. I hadn't played on it in a couple days, but after sucking on it for a couple minutes, I found that right at the tip it had bent. There was a significant crease in the middle, making one plateau higher than the other. Ironically, after I put it away, it reverted back to normal. Anyone else have something similar to this?

Back in college when I was serious about practising, I used to hang my sax in my locker -strap straight from my neck to the hook- when sitting in classes. When I got back it was common for the tip of the reed to resemble a sine wave. After a few minutes of playing it was always fine. The reeds were vandoren jazz cut 5 (old purplebox) and clipped too.
Wish I could find some more of those reeds.

Vortex,I had reeds that became 'wavey' at the tip. I soak them in water for a while and then they flattened out and played right. Is that what your problem is? I use Vandoren Trads too. Joe.
