So the home studio begins. With my surfboards, mouthpieces, reeds, fake books, sax repairs and now studio gear. My wife is going to roll her eyes for sure! I just have to get my toys before my kid starts getting expensive hobbies! Did I tell you guys lately that you rock. Thanks again for the links.

Round 5 is a bit slow, only 3 entries so far (and one of those was moved up from round 6).

    Just a gentle reminder...

Hey Pete, can we turn in a chorus on doubles even if we've already submitted on another horn? ..............

Default Come on people - please contribute to SOTW Blues

I hope I can be forgiven for posting a link here to my SOTW blues thread (Even though I shouldn't be forgiven for selling my The Martin tenor).

Round 5 has slowed down and I fear it may grind to a halt unless we get some more recordings.

For those of you unaware, there is a simple blues backingtrack. Play a chorus, send your recording to me and I mix it into the final track. So far we have 4 excellent tracks

Please join in, or if too chicken please hassle your friends, enemies, lovers, mums, moderators or all at once if it's the same person.

I need at least two more people to finish round 5, then move ever onward and downward to round 6!

Please note, if you are interested don't PM me, use the link in the first post of the SOTW blues thread.

EDIT: even easier here it is:

Damn, and you'd do this so beautifully. Have you no friends? (with a microphone and soundcard)

Ha! I'll bet you say that to all the girls! I know I can't touch that chorus Frank D laid down for #1. Darn near perfect!

ps. actually the whole recording in the house thing is totally alien to me. I think it's great; just never got into it.

No home capabilities to record here, either. Good idea, Pete. Good luck with it.

I don't have a mic to plug into my sound card, and... I don't know how to improvise...

If you can send me the background track I'll give it a go. Recording quality will be terrible though...I don't have my mic/interface with me, just the built in mic on my macbook and audacity.

    Alto clarinet would be great.

See the link in the 1st post for the key and tempo. If I remember correctly it's F.

But you do need the ability to record along with the track and then send just a wav file of your performance that I can synchronise.
