Default Your Favorite YouTube Saxophone Clips

I love finding new players via YouTube. And many SOTW members have turned me on to some fabulous young players as well as great vintage clips. I thought it would be interesting putting them all in one thread.

Tenor - '61 Mark VI w/Tenney Slant Tone Edge 7
    Altos - '60 & '66 Mark VI w/Meyer 6M/Caravan
Soprano - Silver Whitehall (Yani S6 Stencil) w/Tenney Tone Edge 6
    Clarinet - '68 Buffet R13 w/Richard Hawkins

My all time favorite YouTube sax clip is David Sanborn playing on Little Wing with Eric Clapton and Sheryl Crow. I actually like it more for the reactions of Clapton, Crow, and Sanborn after the solo (3:55-4:05) than the playing itself. Sanborn gets totally lost in the moment.

I have been slowly trying to build up a playlist for my students to check out. It is on my website.

I think he's saying to Clapton. 'Quit steppin' on my ride, dude'.

Now I'm quite a fan of Yoko Kanno's compositions for the "Cowboy Bebop" anime. You might say its really what got me wanting to learn the sax. Anyway heres a great piece, the sax solo that starts about half way just blows my mind and the singing high note at the end is just orgasmic

I thought there was a more active youtube thread, but I can't find it.

Anyway, I thought this was too much fun not to share:

I recently found some recordings of Phil Woods in youtube and I have been enjoying them ever since. I find these videos to really move me and inspire me to play like him.

    Easy Living - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_OsynF9uGY
And When We Were Young - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8udjNCTJBg
Willow Weep for Me - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YKHk4YvwvY
    I'll Remember April pt1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkl2kMfbGU0
    I'll Remember April pt2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLNe6aaZMiM

That last video also shows great musical skills by a younger player who might become a legend herself.

I had checked out Phil Woods from dbpnz list & also hit my entry from there which just leaves me grinning & shakin' my head. Beautiful. I was reminded to enter this link when I went to Neff's link for Phil's Master class & as he said, Priceless.
    Enjoy the comic relief insert.
