Hi,

Can anyone reccomend a good music theory book?
Probably from Medium to Advanced, in difficulty.

Thank you.

If you do not want to think like everyone else then check out Arnold Schoenberg's "Structual Functions of Harmony" - sells for about $6 to $8 used; Theory of Harmony - about $15 used; and finally, Fundamentals of Music Composition.

All are different from the usual drab and they will stretch your imagination.

And I would cast votes for one of the books on Schenkerian analysis as well as Hindemith's "Craft of Musical Composition".
