The horns a "martin" 1956 i was using a smoothbore 8, but recently have obtained a quantum 12, which gives me a thicker sound, both good, the quantums nice...
Just thought i would update my set up as i noticed this thread, was back again.
For the last few years I've been using a Berg Larsen 130/0 plasticovers 2.1/2/3 strength and I'm still playing my trusty the Martin Baritone 1956.
'64 Selmer Mark VI low A
Selmer S90 190, Rovner Eddie Daniels lig, Vandoren Blue Box 3 1/2 reeds
Brain Powel Berg Lawton .103'' (HR Berg re-chambered, similar to a plain Lawton now), Vandoren Optimum tenor lig, Vandoren 2 1/2 ZZ reeds
1930 Martin-made "Indiana Band Instrument Co" bari (troubadour-style keywork)
Erik Greiffenhagen double-chamber (formerly a Vando V5), .105 tip
Rico orange (or brown) box 3.5s
Vando optimum lig
Two years later, I've just changed everything up. I needed a low A horn, my low A horn didn't like the double-chamber piece, and so I went shopping. Anyway, new setup is:
Conn 11M low A
Wanne Durga 10 (.130)
Rico Jazz Select 3Ms or 3Hs
Selmer Series II
Otto Link 7* (metal), Rovner light alto lig, Vandoren ZZ #3 reeds (sanded down about 1/4 strength) (jazz/funk)
Selmer S80-C** w/stock lig, Vandoren blue box #3 reeds (classical)
I have never been a fan of the 1 screw Link ligs so I tried my alto lig one day for kicks and it works a lot better...at least now the reed doesn't shift everytime I need to adjust my mouthpiece position.
1967 Selmer MKVI Bari (Bb) with stock neck/Barone Gold plated neck.
Mpc Rousseau JDX6 or Otto Link 8 HR -Alexander Superial DC reeds 3 1/2 .
I have a good amount of power (not as much as my Couf Superba 1 had...) with great ergos, tuning, response and quality of sound. This is my 5th Baritone I've owned and definitely the best one I've played!!!
Marching band: Rico Royal Metalite M9, Legere 3 or Rico Plasticover 3
Concert band: Rico Royal Graftonite B7, Rico Grand Concert 3 or Rico Plasticover 3
Jazz band: Runyon Smooth Bore 5, Prinzo 3
I am at the point where I think I need a different concert piece? Suggestions besides C*? I am more of a fan of pieces with larger tip openings than that...

Alexandre bari (Orsi stencil)
Vintage "pickle barrel" mouthpiece (per Grumps suggestions)
Selmer single screw lig
Rico 3 1/2
I also use a Rico Graftonoite B7 or Selmer s90 190 depending on my mood.
