    Default Classical Saxophone Quartet/Ensemble Websites

I've started a companion thread for individual saxophonist's sites. Feel free to add on. Here are a few for starters:

    Amherst Saxophone Quartet
    Apollo Saxophone Quartet
    Chicago Saxophone Quartet
    New Century Saxophone Quartet
    Prism Quartet
    Rascher Saxophone Quartet
    Texas Saxophone Quartet

Here are a couple of links I have found helpful in the past.

Links with every saxophone quartet you can think of from A-Z.

Here is another site with links to saxophonists and saxophone quartets

Hey Rick, you are ruining all our fun.

If I recall, many of those Amherst links are out of date. I thought we ought to build up our own list of (soon-to-be-broken) links.

That first one is just a link to their CD, but it's a wonderful CD.....

The second is an actual site.

Yes, the Amherst quartet website is woefully out-of-date. The quartet has changed dramatically. It's a shame too - being from Buffalo, it was always great to have the Amherst quartet right in my backyard (even the solo recitals they would sometimes give were amazing - I remember a great recital I heard by Dr. Fancher when she was new to the quartet that inspired my playing when I was still in high school). The players were always great and is one of the reasons why the saxophone community in Buffalo is so strong (many players have had the privilege to study with members of the quartet - I was lucky to take a few lessons from Russ Carere). The ASQ is still working and I hope they regain what they once had.
