Thread: If you could choose your own rhythm section...

  1. #1

Default If you could choose your own rhythm section...

...of players dead or alive, who would they be?

    For me:

    Hank Jones, piano
    Paul Chambers, bass
    Elvin Jones, drums

    or...

    Pat Metheny, guitar
    Christian McBride, bass
    Jeff "Tain" Watts, drums

    or...

    Marcus Roberts, piano
    Reginald Veil, bass
    Herlin Riley, drums

^ Yes I know it's practically Wynton Marsalis' rhythm section, but still; solid as a rock. And you can't forget Marcus on keys.

Just two questions: Where's the Bar located relative to the stage, and does the band get a discount?

    Brian Percoco: Guitar
    Thelonious Monk: Piano
    Charles Mingus: Bass
    Ashanti Allison: Drums

Brian and Ashanti are local players here, but once they start there is NO stopping them, they can really rip it up

    to break it down:

    Tommy Flanagan, piano
    Paul Chambers, bass
