I'd get the low serial number Mk 6 one of my students has. I'd sell it and pay off my car. I could really use the 9 thousand dollars they go for and I sound better on my 1900 dollar horn. Now if I could buy Breckers chops, Pickets tone, Sonny Rollins inventiveness or Parkers phrasing that I'd consider. K
I think my yamaha 62 alto is the best horn around. I've tried other people's VI's, BA's, references, custom Z's, keil's, etc. virtually every interation of the "Big 4" you can think of, and I feel that my horn is superior. Could be that I just grew into putting air through this horn over the past year? I didn't feel that way until recently.
Something proven + lots of practice = best horn you can imagine.
Randall's Keilwerth Bari, only done out from soprano down to bass. I love my teachers sx-90-r bari, and alto. His 6 tenor is sweet too, but Randall's bari takes the cake
When I say manufactured today, I meant any sax that has been made before and is not in the process of being created or has not been created yet.
