just finished a week's worth of recording sessions in Brooklyn for a big recording project I'm doing - with Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre (one of the founders of the AACM), JD Allen, Noah Preminger, Matt Shipp, Ursula Oppens, Lewis Porter, Ken Peplowski, Jon-Erik Kellso, Randy Sandke, and others. Went very nicely.

Heavy company! JD Allen and Kalaparusha are two of my favourite living tenor players. I have watched the 'Closeness' film about Kalaparusha's recording his upcoming album of the same name on Youtube several times. Each time it whets my appetite to hear it but no sign of it yet. Don't suppose you know anything about it? ie possible release date?? Your project sounds very interesting too. Music is music but I would put those two guys at the opposite end of the spectrum from people like Ken Peplowski and Randy Sandke!
Hey, did you ever ask Kalaparusha about his 'Closeness' recording? I'm eager to hear it and there's no sign of it yet.
