apparently, Eric tweaks 20 yo Otto Links by working the facing, rails, chamber and carving an "EB-style" in epoxy. He also thins out the beak to make them feel more like EB's.
Looking to get some info if anyone has had the opportunity to try these pieces. Thanks!
I dont know if I tried exactly what you're talking about, but when I went to Eric's shop he had at least 20 links for alto and tenor he had worked on. I tried 5 different Florida links and tenor and they all played excellent. Eric's selection is unmatched. I don't think you could try every mouthpiece he has in his shop in one session
He's got a great selection of mouthpieces. Tried out some pricey double rings, old FL no USAs, etc. All played really well. My fav was an Eburnated Bar Slant, that thing could sing.
As a materials guy, I'm curious... How the heck does that happen? What were the circumstances? At which end did it open the seam?
