" M'enfin ! " ....Gaston Lagaffe
Has he said in the vid, I'm suspecting the issue is similar to old rubber where the process and end product wouldn't meet safety or environmental regulations.
Corrupting the minds of everyone, everywhere.
Have you ever held a geiger counter up to a Mark VI?..........
Wow.....

Maybe it's not the product, but the fabrication process that would yield toxic waste?
Corrupting the minds of everyone, everywhere.
That's the true source of the Mark VI "thing"! It's all about the toxicity. He wasn't supposed to tell anyone . . .
Buck
Mark tox-VI?
Could it be that the players of the 50's sounded so great because they were not consumed with such nonsense?
So THAT's what the Mark VI mystique is all about. Players got their brains addled. Explains a lot.

it's a bit off topic but still interesting. i think everyone hear knows the story about the brass from the artillery shells? It turns out they use brass from artillery shells in the large hadron collider because it such a high quality brass:') so maybe there is some truth to that story

I first heard this story 1n 1982, about Bach trumpets. What is so mysterious about brass? It is an alloy.
Anyway, Mk VI were made also with UNEXPLODED artillery shells, hence the health and safety concern. This is also the reason I do not bring my MkVI on airplanes as checked-in baggage: too dangerous.
so called cartridge brass is a type of brass, not necessarily recuperated from old cartridges......

Oh it turns out that I should read the stuff first then post something about it here. They used Russian artillery shell casings because it was cheap and it had the right properties.:')
