I think the way to think about it is that he's selling the book, not the recordings, they are just made available along with the book as a bonus. One can find these recordings for free elsewhere, but it's convenient to have them all in one place.

He might have the right. I've seen the two of them perform together. On his site, Eli lists Chris Potter as one of his teachers. My guess is that everything is on the up and up.

Knowing that Eli as a protege of Chris Potter, I imagine that Chris has given him his agreement to this. Also, I think those solos are not from records,, but rather from master classes. Anyway, I didn't buy it because of the recordings, but rather because of the written work. I still haven't received a link to access the material, though, although I've already paid several hours ago. I will be patient and wait a little more...
