no neck, missing the G key assembly (cup, rod, button), no case, needs total overhaul
not to mention whether the keywork is corroded together or not....seller not too informed
bought immediately for 600............it is silverplate, but is this considered a decent deal by those who follow Martin prices?
Just curious if I'm totally out of the loop or not. I've had minty lacquer ones and I have had to beat people over the head to get 750, tho not on crazybay.
was overpriced. I have been seeing tenors in playing condition sell on ebay for around a grand to $1400 lately. Someone probably did not notice the "no neck' in the listing and thpought they grabed a bargain.
Maybe he already had a donor horn with neck and other needed parts, if they were lacquer, you could easily sending them out for plating and then put on the recipient horn.
I found a Selmer bari on ebay last year for $300 that was missing a couple of parts including the neck and a mouthpiece. I had a mouthpiece and was able to get a neck and my tech was able to find all of the missing parts off of a donor sax that was junked that he had in the back. $400 later, I have a pretty decent Selmer bari that I have slightly over $800 invested in. I could list it for at least $1800 and I'm sure it would sell. If you're willing to go to the effort, there are good deals that can be made!
If I had seen it, I would have bid on it since I have the neck and a set of spare keys. Yes, it was overpriced unless the buyer didn't have to shell out for spare parts.
That may go on record as the most expensive Indiana ever. I sold my Comm. III in great shape for less.
